It was a good day.

Yours truly here has had the most thrilling news yesterday.
It was only a few weeks ago that I thought to myself, why not enter this competition.  OK, landscape photography is not really my genre and still needs to be developed.  What could I possibly lose?  Nothing!

Well to my surprise there were four wonderful notifications in my Inbox congratulating me on my Bronze Awards in the Epson International Pano 2013 Competition.
What pleased me more was that one of my very minimal landscapes was even considered. Just goes to show you that you do not have to go overboard to be recognised.

This has certainly given me the push to pick up that camera of mine again and challenge myself once again.
As a photographer you can relate to the fact that we all hit the doldrums with our creativity at times.  And out of the blue it does not take much to suddenly ignite that little spark telling you….yes you can do it and hopefully with fresh ideas you are right back in the groove.

It was never important to me whether my photographs were ok to other people.  My idea was just to enjoy my passion and be pleased when my concept of a certain photograph came to fruition.  It is a personal journey that gives me that little skip and keeps my inner child happy.
Venturing into the International Salon was a first, so what will the future hold?  Who knows.

For now it certainly has put a smile on my face and a little hope that my journey is not finished yet.

My only regret is that my father was not here to witness that I finally grew to love photography.  He had his own Photography Business and was passionate in his work.  As a child I was never interested and once he passed away when I was 9 years of age, photography was never in my life until the first Digital SLR landed in my hand.  The rest is history.
